Link is the form the player turns into in Super Mario Maker 2 after obtaining a Master Sword. It is based on the protagonist of the same name in the Legend of Zelda franchise.
Overview[]
Link was added to the game as part of the version 2.0 update in. Link is equipped with various weapons, such as a sword, bow & arrow, shield, and bombs.
Link is only available in the Super Mario Bros. game style.
Mechanics[]
Basic Abilities[]
Master Sword[]
Link will swing the Master Sword, using it against enemies.
Dash Attack[]
Link will jog in place, then after a second, he'll dash while having the Master Sword pointed at his direction, attacking enemies while running.
Down Thrust[]
Link will pause in midair and will strike downward while the Master Sword is in front of him. This can be helpful to attack a row of a stack of enemies.
Hylian Shield[]
The Hylian Shield will be able to block most objects.
Bow & Arrows[]
Link will be able to aim the bow in 3 directions:
- Diagonal Upwards
- Forward
- Diagonal Downward
Bombs[]
Link will pull out a bomb and it will explode in 3.5 seconds. Link's bombs behave very similarly to a stationary Bob-omb in that they will destroy Destructible Blocks or kill most enemies when exploding. In the Night Ground theme, Link's bombs will grow legs and walk forward until they hit a wall.
