A POW Block is a block that will explode causing an earthquake when it is hit or thrown.

Super Mario Maker[]
POW Blocks are affected by gravity and will fall downwards unless placed on a track or given wings. POW Blocks can be made to spawn from blocks or pipes. POW Blocks can also be activated by a falling Thwomp or being shot by a Fire Koopa Clown Car.
POW Blocks are available in all four game styles.

Effects[]
In Super Mario Maker, POW Blocks have the following effects:
- Instantly destroy any on-screen enemy touching the ground.
- Destroy any coins the explosive wave touches.
In addition to these basic effects, it is also possible to control the explosion, or kill enemies without destroying the POW Block.
